Program & Degree:  PhD, Food Science

Research Focus:I am using viruses that only infect bacteria (phages) to kill Salmonella in poultry production environments. I also plan to investigate mechanisms of phage-resistance by their bacterial host.

What inspired you to pursue this field of study?

I accidentally took a microbiology course in undergrad and became interested in pathogens and food microbiology.

What’s your favourite food?

Sushi! But I enjoy all foods.
