Where is the Faculty of Land and Food Systems Graduate Student Conference being held?

The LFS Graduate Student Conference is being hosted in Thea’s Lounge and Thea’s Penthouse, Thea Koerner House, 6371 Crescent Road V6T 1Z2.


Who can attend this conference?

All LFS students, staff and alumni are welcome to attend this conference, as well as faculty members across UBC.


How much does it cost to attend this conference? 

Conference registration is $15. Please register online and pay for registration through the secure online payment system. Note that conference volunteers are exempt from this registration fee.


Who can present at this conference?

Any graduate student supervised by a faculty member in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems can present at this conference.

Students at any point in their program can present; you do not need to have final results to present at this conference! Students are able to submit abstracts with final results, preliminary results, or can even present their proposal or a unique topic related to their research area.

Post-doctoral fellows and undergraduate students in LFS, and graduate students co-supervised by a LFS Faculty member can also present!


I have class on Fridays – do I have to attend for the full day?

We realize that students and faculty may have other commitments on campus. Although we encourage everyone to stay for the entire conference, you are able to ‘sneak out’ for classes. Please be considerate of presenters, though, and only enter/exit presentations during breaks.
